Quebec Maritime Excursion

Embark on a captivating 90-minute cruise along the majestic St. Lawrence River, where you'll discover Quebec City from a whole new perspective. This scenic journey offers a rich tapestry of history, natural beauty, and cultural heritage as you explore the river and its surroundings.

Your adventure begins at the Chouinard Pier, nestled beneath the iconic Chateau Frontenac. As you set sail, your costumed guide will bring the history of Quebec City to life, pointing out notable landmarks and sharing fascinating stories along the way.

First, you'll glide past Baie de Beauport, a favorite spot for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy canoeing, kayaking, sailing, kite surfing, and sailboarding. The tranquil waters and picturesque scenery make this a perfect introduction to the wonders of the St. Lawrence River.

Continuing your voyage, you'll pass under the Île d’Orléans Bridge, where you'll be treated to a unique view of Montmorency Falls. These breathtaking falls, standing 275 feet tall, mark the point where the Montmorency River plunges over a cliff into the St. Lawrence River, creating a spectacular sight that’s sure to leave a lasting impression.

Your cruise then takes you along the western end of Île d’Orléans, a pastoral island known as the birthplace of Francophones in North America. One of the first areas to be colonized, this island offers a glimpse into the early history of the region.

Next, you'll pass by the shores of Lévis, a town rich in history and culture, located just across the river from Quebec City. This area has been inhabited for nearly 10,000 years, as evidenced by numerous archaeological sites. In the 1700s, the British used the hills of Lévis to lay siege to Quebec City during the Seven Years' War. Today, Lévis is a peaceful residential area where French heritage is proudly preserved, with 97% of the population speaking French as their first language.

As your cruise comes full circle, you'll return to the Chouinard Pier, just steps away from Place Royale in Quebec City’s historic Lower Town.

Your journey will take place aboard a charming three-deck ferry from the 1930s, lovingly restored and transformed into a modern excursion vessel in 2011. With the capacity to accommodate 1,000 passengers, the boat features bilingual guides, full dining facilities, a bar, restrooms, and several outdoor decks, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.

This cruise is not just a sightseeing tour—it's a voyage through the heart of Quebec's history and culture, offering a unique and unforgettable view of this remarkable city.
